ESTATE IN CITTA'

"A-A-A-abbronzatissima nella Barona"
ITA

“I wanna go to the seaside, I can’t take the city anymore,” sang Marracash back in 2008, in a track that BECAME the anthem of Milan’s unbearable summers, spent surrounded by concrete, mosquitoes, swimming pools and swearing.
What does a GIRL IN MILANO do when it’s 40°C and she can’t escape to the seaside? How is the climate crisis experienced differently depending on one’s economic means, and how is this disparity further intensified in the city’s peripheral neighborhoods?
Together with Cora, Alice, Ilaria and Martina, we crossed Milan from end to end, filming, taking photographs and, above all, sweating, to tell the story of how young women survive the summer in the city in style.
